Monitoring and evaluation

A performance monitoring system of the vaccine procurement function should be established through routine monitoring of performance targets and periodic evaluations.

Ideally, it should be aligned or integrated with monitoring frameworks for the supply chain.
Audits of the procurement function are key instruments of evaluation and their findings provide clear guidance as to where resources should be targeted to mitigate risks and drive improvements.

Note: The parameters listed, specific to each procurement process, cannot be used to draw a score of the vaccine procurement capacity, as they represent different levels of details and granularity. E.g. Some questions might be too general/broad and might need further exploration in order to be used for a proper assessment.
