Highlights
Promoting and protecting the mental health and psychosocial well-being of children, adolescents, and their caregivers remains a cornerstone for achieving all the SDGs with a direct impact on SDG 3: ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being across all age groups. This is a multisectoral area of work that is delivered by UNICEF, with strategic indicators to measure change across Goal Areas 1, 2 and 3. In 2023, UNICEF made a significant leap forward in accelerating child and adolescent mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) across the humanitarian-development nexus with the implementation of data-driven and evidence-based interventions across the life course from pre-birth and early childhood through adolescence.

- Nearly 35 million children, adolescents, parents and caregivers accessed mental health and psychosocial support services.
