Highlights

Working together to secure children’s rights, now and in the future

UNICEF remains committed to advancing the full realization of children’s rights, leaving no child behind. In a world of complex, interconnected challenges and dwindling development funding, achieving this goal will take the concerted efforts and resources of a broad coalition of partners.

The Strategic Plan, 2026–2029, is a call to action for governments, international organizations, civil society, the private sector and young people themselves to join us.

Together, we can realize our shared vision: a world where every child survives and thrives, learns and develops skills for life, lives free from poverty and violence, and inherits a sustainable planet.

Children face unprecedented challenges

Protracted conflicts, climate shocks, economic instability and systemic discrimination exacerbate deprivations and inequalities, threatening decades of progress.

This is a decisive moment
The UNICEF Strategic Plan, 2026–2029, represents our commitment to accelerate the collaborative actions and investments needed to realize the rights of every child.

We aim for transformative change
Five new Impact Results tackle the most persistent barriers to children’s rights, by strengthening national systems that deliver for children:

  • 10 million child lives saved and at least 500 million children healthy, well-nourished and developmentally on-track.
  • 350 million more children and young people learning and skilled.
  • 100 million fewer children in multidimensional poverty.
  • 350 million children protected from violence.
  • 500 million children better protected from disasters and climate and environmental risks.
