About

Mental health is fundamental to every child’s wellbeing and development, shaping their ability to learn, form relationships, participate in society and realize their full potential. It is integral to the achievement of SDG 3 and the wider Sustainable Development Goals. In 2025, UNICEF continued to advance mental health and psychosocial support at scale amid rising needs and significant resource constraints affecting national systems and service delivery. UNICEF and partners strengthened the integration of MHPSS across health, education and child protection systems, expanded workforce capacity, advanced data and evidence generation, and reinforced global leadership and coordination.

Headline result

UNICEF delivered integrated, multisectoral MHPSS programming across more than 130 countries, reaching an estimated 53.76 million children, adolescents, and caregivers, including 25.7 million in humanitarian settings across 59 countries.
