Istanbul, Türkiye
Workshop objectives

This is a multi-stakeholder, face-to-face technical event that consolidates the learning of Phase I of the ASPECT project. Bringing together UNICEF, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and academic experts, the workshop aims to facilitate exchange and technical discussions to refine the ASPECT project’s overarching theory of change and its learning agenda for 2024–2027. The specific objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Initiate and foster dialogue between the ASPECT technical teams, academic partners and users of evidence (UNICEF programme practitioners).
  • Validate the ASPECT theory of change with a focus on generated evidence informing advocacy and programme improvement. Build a common language and understanding of key concepts and definitions.
  • Take stock of global knowledge and evidence gaps related to the effectiveness of ASP programmes and systems in order to formulate evidence needs, contextualized in the fragility contexts of selected countries and priority regions.
  • Sharpen the evaluation and research questions and scope by eliciting feedback from experts and practitioners.

The workshop also aims to identify and validate ASPECT learning priorities and potential operational bottlenecks in advancing the ASPECT evidence agenda.
