UNICEF’s decentralized evaluations are led by Regional and Country Offices to generate timely, context-specific evidence that supports decision-making, learning, and accountability at multiple levels. These evaluations focus on programmatic relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability in local contexts, and they complement global evaluations by addressing region- and country-specific priorities.

Each of UNICEF’s seven regions oversees a portfolio of decentralized evaluations that reflect the unique development and humanitarian challenges of their settings. These evaluations are managed independently by Regional and Country Offices, aligned with UNICEF’s Evaluation Policy, and contribute to the organization’s broader results and evidence base.
