Evaluation at UNICEF is delivered through a decentralized model that brings independent, high-quality evaluation closer to the children, communities, and partners UNICEF serves.
Regional and Country Offices lead evaluations that generate timely, context-specific evidence to strengthen decision-making, accountability, and learning. These evaluations assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence, impact, and sustainability of UNICEF's policies, programmes, and partnerships in diverse development and humanitarian settings.
Together with global evaluations led by the Evaluation Office, regional and country evaluations provide a comprehensive evidence base that informs decisions across UNICEF while responding to local priorities. Conducted in accordance with the UNICEF Evaluation Policy, they contribute to organizational learning, stronger accountability, and better results for children.
