Highlights

Every child has the right to be counted and reached by the health services they need, but millions are still missed: in 2024, 14.3 million children did not receive a single vaccine, often because health systems could not find them or follow them through care. Digital health can help close that gap, from mapping where unreached children live to equipping community health workers and connecting health records so that no child is lost between services. UNICEF’s Digital Health Strategy 2026–2030 sets out how we will work with governments to make this happen at national scale, through five priorities: finding every child, equipping the health workforce, connecting health systems, financing national plans, and building the shared digital infrastructure that every sector relies on. Grounded in children’s rights, the Strategy puts governments in the lead and safety, privacy and equity at the centre, so that new technology, including artificial intelligence, works for every child.
