Technology for emergencies

Preparing governments, local partners and UNICEF country offices for emergencies by providing ICT tools, planning, training, and support.

Adolescent girls use cellphones and tablets in the Za’atari camp for Syrian refugees, in Mafraq Governorate, near the Syrian border. Open source app Primero launched to help protect children displaced by conflict.

The 'Technology for Emergencies' (T4E) team at UNICEF uses digital tools to help prepare for and respond to emergencies.

We work closely with UNICEF's Emergency Operations (EMOPS) and other technology partners to create and improve digital solutions that aid children during crises. Our work includes preparing UNICEF country offices, governments, and local partners for emergencies by providing ICT tools, planning, training, and support. The team aims to make emergency responses more efficient and effective through technology.
