Highlights

Building Safer Digital Futures explores how gaps in cybersecurity and data governance can become child rights risks. Drawing on UNICEF’s work through the SafeChild partnership with the Government of Luxembourg, this white paper positions secure, accountable digital systems as foundational to children’s safety, dignity and long-term well-being, especially in low-resource and humanitarian settings. It calls on governments, industry and humanitarian actors to treat cybersecurity not as a technical afterthought, but as a core child rights issue in the digital age.
