They support UNICEF’s efforts and raise their voices to advocate for children

Who is the Good Will Ambassador

National and international Goodwill Ambassadors

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors are well-known personalities in the arts, science, literature, entertainment, sports and other specialized fields who contribute to UNICEF’s work. They use their talents and fame to advocate for children, support UNICEF’s mission to ensure the right of every child’s right to health, education, equality and protection, and help UNICEF to fundraise. They convey key messages on the activities of the organization and children’s rights thus bringing them to a much wider audience. Our ambassadors can communicate directly with decision-makers and have the power to effect change in the name of a better present and future for every child in the world.

Danny Kaye pioneered the role of Ambassador-at-Large in 1954; it was taken on by Audrey Hepburn and others, building up into the current distinguished roster of international, regional and national goodwill ambassadors.

Elena Petrova has been UNICEF National ambassador since May 2020. The popular and beloved Bulgarian actress has endorsed the causes of the United Nations Children's Fund multiple times through the years. Elena has been especially active in her support for the children with disabilities. As she shared herself: "The invitation to be a UNICEF ambassador was an honour and responsibility to me. It's not merely a cause, but a battle for providing a better and normal way of life in which these children and parents will not feel isolated and alone. To be an ambassador, to me, is a message of hope and life. One good turn deserves another!"
