Highlights

UNICEF Angola, in collaboration with civil society partners, prepares budget reports to analyze what the General State Budget - OGE - brings to the social sectors that have the greatest impact on the realization of children's rights, such as health, education, water and sanitation, social protection, and child protection.

The reports analyze the size and composition of budget allocations for these sectors in the current fiscal year, identifying trends over the years, as well as providing information on the efficiency, equity, and appropriateness of spending.

The main objectives of the budget reports include synthesizing complex budget information so that it is easily understood by different stakeholders and presenting key messages and recommendations to influence public financial decision-making processes and leverage national resources for children. This initiative is part of a Public Finance engagement work approach to support the Government of Angola and all stakeholders to adopt all necessary measures for the implementation of the rights recognized in the Convention on the Rights of the Child using the maximum available resources, as provided for in Article IV of the Convention.
