Pandora donates to UNICEF to support children affected by earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela
The US$200k emergency donation will help UNICEF reach children and families with critical services and supplies
COPENHAGEN, 9 September 2026 – Pandora has donated US$ 200,000 to UNICEF’s emergency response for children affected by devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela and Colombia in June and August, respectively.
The donation will help UNICEF respond to the immediate needs of children and their families, while also supporting longer-term recovery.
In Venezuela, children continue to face significant impacts from the catastrophic damage caused by June’s earthquakes. UNICEF is supporting the country’s transition from emergency response to early recovery efforts, sustaining access to essential health, nutrition, WASH, child protection and education services for children and families. This includes the restoration of safe water and sanitation to benefit up to a quarter of a million people, including over 76,000 children, and supporting the resumption of education at the start of the new school year.
In Colombia, many children have seen their homes and schools damaged and continue to face risks as essential services remain disrupted in the hardest-hit areas. UNICEF is supporting children and their families with safe access to WASH, including the provision of critical supplies covering hygiene, maternal care and menstrual needs, and water storage tanks, in addition to strengthening child protection prevention and response measures to ensure a safe return to school.
“Children impacted by recent earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia continue to be deeply affected by displacement, disruption to essential services and protection risks,” said UNICEF Director of Private Fundraising and Partnerships, Carla Haddad Mardini.
UNICEF teams are on the ground responding to children’s needs before, during and after emergencies. We greatly value our partner Pandora and their commitment to help protect vulnerable children suffering the visible and invisible impacts of humanitarian disasters.
Berta de Pablos-Barbier, CEO, Pandora, said: "The humanitarian disaster facing families in Colombia and Venezuela is devastating. Having lived in Colombia as a child, this situation affects me deeply, and it resonates strongly across Pandora, where we have many colleagues and customers throughout the region.
Through our support of UNICEF's vital work in local communities, we hope this contribution will help provide much-needed assistance to children and families affected by the crisis.
Pandora has been a global UNICEF partner since 2019, contributing US$ 16 million to support children and young people worldwide, with a special focus on girls, through educational programmes designed to champion their empowerment. Additionally, Pandora supports UNICEF’s global emergency response, including giving flexible funds that help children most affected by humanitarian crises, no matter where they are.
