A UNICEF corporate partner since 2009
The MSC Foundation has been a longstanding partner of UNICEF, raising a cumulative total of 17 million USD to help improve children’s lives in areas such as education, health, and nutrition.
Since the launch of the collaboration in 2009, MSC Foundation has remained a steadfast partner to UNICEF, contributing to a wide range of programmes including promoting education in Brazil, nutrition initiatives in Malawi, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, and China, and education efforts in Côte d’Ivoire.
In 2025, the partnership which has promoted initiatives like Get on Board for Children, entered a new chapter by supporting education initiatives in the Philippines: Through “The Learning Bridge” programme, around 400,000 children will benefit from improved quality education over the next three years.
This programme will help address a severe learning crisis, particularly on the island of Mindanao, where repeated school disruptions caused by frequent extreme weather events and floods have deepened existing gaps. The programme tackles these challenges through innovative, scalable solutions – such as teacher training, play-based learning methods, curriculum innovation, and a climate-smart floating school – aimed at improving school readiness providing quality education and strengthening literacy and numeracy skills.

MSC’s support to UNICEF goes beyond fundraising. By leveraging it’s expertise in logistics, MSC Group has provided in-kind donations of ocean freight shipping, such as medical and nutrition supplies, enabling UNICEF to deliver life-saving aid to children in need.
