‘Growing Futures, one drop at a time’. Under this new slogan, GARDENA and UNICEF have extended their global partnership in 2026 to bring safe water and sanitation (WASH) to children and families worldwide. The partnership aims to help provide 355,000 children and families with access to clean and safe water in high-need regions by the end of 2026.

On World Water Day, March 22nd 2018, GARDENA and UNICEF had started a long-term partnership. Gardena’s funding helps provide access to safe water, basic sanitation and good hygiene practices to ensure that all children can survive and thrive. Since its start in 2018 the partnership has already contributed to providing WASH services for 330,000 children and families.

For over 50 years, GARDENA has been one of the leading manufacturers of intelligent, innovative products and systems for garden care and watering. As part of its corporate social responsibility, GARDENA attaches great importance to a responsible and wise use of water as a precious resource. For this reason, GARDENA has decided to support UNICEF, who is a proven partner with the skills, reach and experience in WASH to help provide sustainable assistance and take action during acute crises.

UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team works in over 100 countries worldwide to help ensure a continuous water supply for children and families in need of safe water; helps equip schools with sanitation facilities to enable as many children as possible to attend; and helps provide clean water supplies in emergency situations or after natural disasters.

UNICEF's WASH programme contributes to reducing vulnerability and strengthening the resilience of local communities, with a particular focus on young girls and adolescents to promote their empowerment.

Within the scope of the global, long-term partnership, GARDENA is providing a significant financial contribution to UNICEF's worldwide WASH programmes. The partnership builds on both UNICEF and GARDENA’s reach and strengths to make a contribution to the global effort to fulfill Sustainable Development Goal 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
