Clarios Foundation
A UNICEF corporate partner since 2020

Clarios Foundation is helping UNICEF to build a safer and healthier future by addressing the increasing threats from environmental degradation and climate change that put children’s health at risk.
Children are the least responsible for, yet the most vulnerable to, environmental harm. Almost every child on earth is exposed to at least one major climate and environmental hazard. An estimated 26 per cent of deaths in children under 5 years old can be prevented by addressing environmental risks.
Support from Clarios Foundation is helping UNICEF to scale up its work through the Healthy Environments for Healthy Children programme in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belize, Bhutan, Cambodia, Ecuador, Georgia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Viet Nam to ensure healthier childhoods and brighter futures.
The partnership will help UNICEF to assist governments at all levels, communities, civil society and young people to make positive change to protect children’s health from environmental hazards such as polluted air, water and food, and threats related to climate change. UNICEF aims to train 5,000 health workers on children’s environmental health, reach 1 million caregivers with public safety messaging, empower 700 youth activists, and implement programmes to address children’s environmental health risks in primary health care.
