Frontlines to frontrunners
Children and youth driving climate action in Nepal
Highlights
UNICEF’s Climate Cinema: Nepal’s Children on the Frontlines of Climate Action was a nationwide campaign – implemented in the two weeks before COP30 – that highlighted the profound impact of climate change on children, amplified the voices and celebrated actions of young people as powerful advocates for change.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the effects of climate change on children in Nepal while showcasing the vital role that children and youth play as active agents of climate action and advocacy. Through community engagement across five provinces, the campaign promoted child-centred approaches to climate resilience, with a particular focus on advancing Nepal’s NDC 3.0 policies and plans at the provincial and municipal levels.
