Bagmati Province School Readiness Report 2082 BS (2025/26 AD)

Highlights

The Government of Nepal has expanded and improved Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) programmes to better prepare children for school and lifelong learning. Since enrollment alone does not show children’s developmental progress, the Education Review Office (ERO) began conducting school readiness assessments in 2017 based on the Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS).  This report presents the results of the 2082 BS (2025/26 AD) assessment of newly enrolled Grade 1 children in Bagmati Province, focusing on their developmental and learning levels and the relationship between ECED programme quality and child outcomes.
