The COVID-19 pandemic wrought widespread disruption of education services across Nepal. More than an academic year of closures for all 34,8161 schools in the country not only jeopardized children’s health and safety, but also resulted in substantial loss of learning amongst almost 8.3 million school-aged children.
In this context, how did the Government of Nepal, UNICEF and other partners join forces to respond to the impact of the crisis on children's learning? What were the key initiatives that were activated in the wake of the pandemic?
