Highlights

The WASH Acts newsletter highlights UNICEF’s support to the Government of Indonesia’s water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) agenda and its efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: Ensure access to water and sanitation for all.

1. WASH Acts Vol. 22 (January-April 2026)

Indonesia is driving progress towards 100% access to safe drinking water and sanitation, yet only 30.45% households have access to safe drinking water (MoH, 2024) and 10.30% to safe sanitation (BPS, 2025). Accelerating progress requires stronger collaboration with the private sector and financing partners to help close persistent service gaps. WASH Acts vol. 22 highlights UNICEF’s support to enhance access to safe WASH, including advancing private-sector contributions, strengthening south-south cooperation, and leveraging community efforts, alongside broader support for the Government of Indonesia’s WASH agenda.
