UNICEF is working towards the goal that every child is protected from all forms of violence and exploitation, including those associated with digital technologies. The report is part of a programmatic partnership between UNICEF and the University of Oxford (in collaboration with the University of Cape Town and Parenting for Lifelong Health) with a shared goal to develop and integrate content on online sexual violence prevention into digital and blended parenting programmes.
The report sets out findings from a rapid evidence synthesis as well as stakeholder consultations with over 50 experts across multiple sectors, including UN agencies, NGOs, academia, and survivor-led organisations.
Insights from the evidence synthesis and stakeholder consultations highlight key considerations for designing interventions that support parents and caregivers in both prevention and response. The recommendations position families as active partners within a broader, multisectoral effort to address technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse.
