Cold Chain Equipment Industry Consultation – March 2022

Around 50 participants, including suppliers and UNICEF and GAVI representatives attended the Cold Chain Equipment Industry Consultation in March 2022.

The meeting discussed the upcoming bidding exercises focused on solar direct drive refrigerators and freezers (SDD) and mains-powered ice lined refrigerators and freezers (ILR).

The purposes of the consultation were to:

  • Outline plans for upcoming bidding exercise to establish Long Term Arrangements for supply of ILRs and SDDs spare parts in the second and third quarters of 2022
  • Outline plans for upcoming bidding exercise to establish Long Term Arrangements for service bundles for ILRs and SDDs installations in third and fourth quarters of  2022
  • Share outcomes of 2021 bidding exercise for supply of ILRs and SDDs
  • Update the industry sector on the Gavi 5.0. and the status of COVID response and related demand forecast.
