Highlights

This book is for young children (birth to 3) dealing will death in the family. It is written in a rhythmic manner using some phrases from a traditional lullaby indicating to a young child how her family loves and cares for her, despite the fact that her mother passed away.

We live in a time where many young children have to deal with the illness or death of close family members. This book gently introduces the birth to 3 year old child to the death of a close family member.

Read the book to your child in a gentle, sensitive way using the rhythm of the words. The book reminds the child that he or she is still loved and valued by family members.

The book shows that love, care and play are important in helping the young child deal with grief and loss. Even the youngest babies experience grief and loss and need to be comforted over a long period of time. The activities in this book show some of the many ways young children can be comforted, loved and valued.

Talk honestly to your child about what he or she is experiencing at the time. Answer his or her questions in a simple and honest way.

Encourage him or her to talk about the loved one that has passed away.

Read the book as often as the child wants.
