Clé de Peau Beauté
A UNICEF corporate partner since 2019
A partnership aimed at empowering girls to claim their rights through education and skill development, unlocking their potential for a better future
Global luxury beauty brand Clé de Peau Beauté and UNICEF are working together to support girls’ skills, education and empowerment worldwide. The partnership began in 2019 with an aim to transform the lives of girls and support them to overcome gender barriers that limit their aspirations, providing the tools and resources they need to develop their skills and fulfill their potential.
From its inception until 2025, the Clé de Peau Beauté and UNICEF partnership has benefitted more than 12.9 million girls with skills-building and empowerment programmes. The impressive results achieved so far have led Clé de Peau Beauté to renew its commitment to the Skills4Girls initiative for another 3 years, with a 6M USD commitment, as the world's largest private sector contributor to UNICEF's gender equality programmes. This programme develops girls’ skills in areas such as science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM), digital technologies and social entrepreneurship in addition to life skills such as problem solving, negotiation, self-esteem, and communication. Over the next three years, the partnership will provide opportunities to further 7.3 million girls across six countries by 2028 to develop their skills and shape their futures and communities.
#UnlockThePowerofGirls
Across the first 6 years of the partnership, Clé de Peau Beauté’s contributions have supported Skills4Girls programmes in 11 countries spread over 7 regions, providing a truly global footprint to Clé de Peau Beauté’s impact. In this new phase, the partnership will continue supporting UNICEF’s Skills4Girls work in Bangladesh, China[1], Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan and Viet Nam, and will expand its coverage to Bolivia, with the aim to promote education in STEAM – areas which are traditionally stifled because of stereotypes and gender norms towards girls. Girls are also learning skills such as self-confidence, teamwork, and decision-making, as well as having access to mentorships so that they can successfully transition to the workforce. For example, in Viet Nam, large-scale teacher training and inclusive science, technology, engineering and math initiatives reached tens of thousands of students, including ethnic minority girls and girls with disabilities, embedding skills development within school systems.
“UNICEF welcomes Clé de Peau Beauté’s continued leadership on gender equality and deep commitment to empowering girls,” said Carla Haddad Mardini, UNICEF’s Director of Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships. “Our renewed partnership, and expanded focus on strengthening critical STEAM skills, is a powerful investment in girls as changemakers who have a powerful role to play in shaping our future.” Carla Haddad Mardini, UNICEF’s Director of Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships.
“Seeing firsthand how this partnership has positively impacted the lives of girls—building their confidence, nurturing their creativity, and opening doors to new opportunities— has made renewing our commitment not only a decision, but a responsibility we deeply believe in has made renewing our commitment not only a decision, but a responsibility we deeply believe in” said Naomi Kawanishi, Global Brand President of Clé de Peau Beauté.
“We are especially encouraged by the emphasis on STEAM education, which equips girls not only with technical expertise but also with the creative confidence to become the innovators of tomorrow. Through this initiative, we strive to help unlock their limitless potential.”
