UNICEF Nepal Early Childhood Development Vision and Action Plan
Empowering all young children to survive, grow and develop to their full potential.
Highlights
Early childhood is a critical period for a child's survival and development, with rapid physical and brain growth. A lack of healthcare, nutrition, protection, stimulation and nurturing care during this time can have life changing consequences. Nepal has made progress in Early Childhood Development (ECD), yet significant challenges persist. To address these, the Government of Nepal introduced the National Strategy for Early Childhood Development (2077-2088), outlining a comprehensive approach to ECD.
UNICEF Nepal's ECD Vision & Action Plan aligns with the national strategy and focuses on collaboration with various stakeholders. Its ultimate goal is to ensure that all young children survive, grow and develop to their full potential.
