About
Building and sustaining peace is vital to UNICEF’s mandate. Violent conflict acts as an impediment to the realization of children’s rights. It harms children both directly and indirectly, and undermines their potential as individuals and productive members of their families, communities, and society.
This Peacebuilding Framework articulates UNICEF’s commitment to children’s rights and its ambition to deliver better results for children in fragile and conflict-affected contexts and to contribute to the broader United Nations system’s efforts to build and sustain peace.
