ICT Annual Report 2025
Digital Impact Division
Highlights
In 2025, UNICEF's ICT Division, renamed the Digital Impact Division (DID) in 2026, worked to help country offices and governments build, strengthen and sustain the digital systems that power services for children. Rather than launching new standalone tools, the year's focus was on reinforcing what already existed: improving platforms, building digital skills, backing government-owned systems and cutting duplication across UNICEF's digital work.
Across regions and programmes, one lesson stood out, technology alone doesn't deliver results; progress was strongest where digital systems were backed by skilled people, clear governance and long-term ownership.
Key results from 2025 include:
- Strengthened digital skills, Over 90 colleagues from 70+ countries trained in cybersecurity, cloud, AI and more through the SafeChild partnership with Luxembourg
- Stronger cyber resilience, All Europe and Central Asia offices completed assessments under the Global Cyber Resilience Initiative
- Expanded core platforms, RapidPro and InForm improved programme monitoring, coordination and interoperability
- Growing digital services for families, Bebbo and Oky continued reaching parents, caregivers and adolescent girls
- Reduced duplication, The ESAR Data Hub unified tools and guidance into one regional platform
- New AI capabilities, UNIBOT launched, expanding staff access to approved AI tools
- A new strategic direction, A Digital Transformation Strategy and Digital Impact Strategy set the path forward
