Making your own compost offers numerous advantages that go beyond simply reducing waste. Not only does it allow you to recycle and repurpose organic materials, such as food scraps and waste, that would otherwise end up in landfills, but by composting at home, you can significantly reduce your carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable environment.

Additionally, homemade compost can be used to improve soil structure, enhances water retention and promotes healthy plant growth. Furthermore, creating your own compost is cost-effective and convenient, as you can customize it to suit your specific gardening needs.

STEP 1: Collect all decomposable waste such as vegetable scraps, leftovers, newspapers, papers, dried leaves, and any other compostable waste you can find. Don't hold back!

STEP 2: Pop open the top lid of your compost bin and get ready to work your magic. Start depositing the waste through the opening, making sure to include those green leaves for a balanced compost. Remember to add water to each layer to keep the moisture levels just right.

STEP 3: Give your compost pile a little tender loving care by turning it regularly. Every four to seven days, grab a shovel and give it a good mix. This aeration process will help speed up the degradation of the waste and turn it into rich, nutrient-packed compost.

STEP 4: After a few months , your waste will undergo an incredible transformation. The degradation process will have worked its magic, and you'll notice a wonderful change. At this point, the compost will be ready to be collected from the bottom opening of the bin. Time to reap the rewards of your hard work!
