Behind every statistic is a story of a child – her hopes, his dreams, their ambitions. The data presented in this report provides an indication of the urgent need for Namibia to consider reviewing policies and legislations. This will provide effective financial resources to meet the needs of children with disabilities and their families and caregivers.
The study reported on herein was aimed at identifying the extra costs incurred by families with children with disabilities and to come up with recommendations for government to develop policies and strategies that address the barriers to access services such as Early Childhood Development (ECD), education, health, transportation, communication and legislation.
