Building strategic partnerships for every child
Children’s rights are everybody’s business
Better business for children
Partnerships are key to expanding our engagement and reach into the most vulnerable communities. With the growing focus on shared-value partnerships, the private sector is increasingly important within UNICEF’s communication and advocacy efforts.
UNICEF Namibia therefore fosters strategic partnerships to leverage resources for the realization of children’s rights in Namibia because children’s rights are everybody’s business.
Respect for children’s rights is the minimum required of business
Local and international businesses from the fishing, mining, retail, agriculture and tourism industries, agreed to develop a sustainable partnership that will enable the business sector to play a catalytic role, to leverage their resources to promote sustainable development and to ensure that no one is left behind. This endeavour is in line with UNICEF Namibia’s effort to leverage domestic resources in middle-income country programming context.
UNICEF launched the first-ever UNICEF Namibia Business Council in 2018 with the aim of creating a forum consisting of the business community, to partner with and deliver sustainable results for all children in Namibia.
