Highlights
This book was originally developed as part of “Development of Big Story Books for Early Literacy in Mother Tongue”. The big story books were written in ethnic languages and translated into Myanmar language. They are to be used to promote love of reading, help develop fluency in a language a child is familiar (mother tongue or first language), and also to support in learning official language “Myanmar” later on. They are available in 90 ethnic languages. They are to be used at home for story reading time by parents and family members and in any early childhood development settings including kindergartens, preschools, mother circles, Sunday schools, children’s wards in hospitals, etc.
In the current situation affected by COVID-19, this book is made available online to be used by more children and families to foster positive relationships through reading books and doing routines together.
Mother’s Love is a story developed by the Mro ethnic National language and culture committee. It’s about the mother hen and chickens are searching food for survival as well as receiving care and love from their mummy hen in the terrible situation. When experiencing challenging times, children often feel frighten and scared. As parents and caregivers, it is important to show love and responsive care to our children, which leads to build secure, trusting and positive relationships.
It is very useful at times of this COVID-19 outbreak. As you have been more at home with your children, you have an opportunity to teach your children enough learning through reading books.
Every family member has ability to help their child become healthy, happy, curious, confident, and above all, able to think and express their needs in the language they are most familiar. This book is one tool for to use in your everyday life to help you and your child– we know you are doing many more wonderful things already.
