Framework of Action for Complementary Feeding and Maternal Nutrition
Critical strategies to deliver healthy diets for women and children
31 percent of children under five years of age in Indonesia are stunted. Good maternal nutrition can help ensure a baby is healthy from birth and prevent low birth weight and stunting. In addition to that, adequate and appropriate complementary foods and feeding practices can help to prevent stunting and introduce healthy eating habits.
UNICEF Indonesia in partnership with Bappenas and Ministry of Health launched the Framework of Action to improve complementary feeding and maternal nutrition for Indonesia today to address the high rates of child malnutrition. The Framework identifies key actions to improve the drivers of poor child and maternal diets.
