Bottlenecks

  • Lack of family courts.
  • Lack of Prosecutors for Minors in each district where a First Instance Court operates.
  • Independent complaint mechanisms for children are limited, with the main one to receive complaints for child rights violations, being the Deputy Ombudswoman for Children’s Rights.
  • There is no centralised child code or a holistic child protection legal framework.
