Building on a successful collaboration in 2025, UNICEF is renewing its partnership with the Government of Luxembourg to strengthen global advocacy on cybersecurity as a child rights issue, expand engagement with governments, deepen technical expertise, and advance responsible AI solutions that protect children in digital environments.

With Luxembourg’s continued support, UNICEF will bring child rights perspectives to global digital policy discussions. UNICEF will also maintain its close engagement with Luxembourg’s cybersecurity ecosystem to promote actionable, child-centred approaches to digital safety worldwide.

In 2026, UNICEF will expand the implementation of its Cyber Readiness Assessment Methodology by supporting two additional governments and developing self-service knowledge assets allowing for scale through UNICEF’s TeamOne operating model.

The partnership will also deliver major global upskilling events, reaching staff across regions with upskilling on secure, ethical and resilient digital systems, including in emergency contexts, supported by experts from Luxembourg cybersecurity ecosystem.

SafeChild will furthermore explore high-impact AI use cases for crisis settings, piloting responsible data collection approaches that strengthen rapid assessment and decision-making, while ensuring strong governance and ethical safeguards.

UNICEF looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with the Government of Luxembourg, Luxembourg’s cybersecurity institutions and a growing network of global partners.

This partnership will help ensure children everywhere can benefit from safe, secure and trustworthy digital solutions.
