Bhashini AI - Making Languages More Accessible with Digital Technology

UNICEF is partnering with the Digital India Bhashini Division, showing our dedication to making information accessible to all children and young people in India. This collaboration uses AI to bridge the language gap across India, helping us connect better with the communities we serve and create opportunities for every child to succeed.
The Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. Inspired by India’s National Language Translation Mission, Bhashini aims to make digital content available in all Indian languages. It uses advanced API technology to provide high-quality language translation services, meeting the diverse language needs of India. Launched by the Prime Minister in July 2022, Bhashini offers language technology as a public resource and is available in 22 Indian languages.
