Highlights

It is my honour to greet you as UNICEF Zimbabwe’s Country Representative. I am excited to join such a passionate and dedicated team, working alongside the Government of Zimbabwe and our valued partners to promote and protect the rights of Zimbabwe’s children. Together, we are building on the progress already made, ensuring every child in Zimbabwe can survive and thrive.

In this edition of Children First, we address some of the most pressing challenges facing children and families today. As Zimbabwe grapples with the ongoing El-Niño-induced drought, we are working tirelessly to support communities with vital resources and services. We also celebrate the successful end of the cholera outbreak, a significant milestone that reflects the power of our collective efforts in safeguarding children’s health. Additionally, we highlight projects that continue to improve the lives of vulnerable children, from enhancing education opportunities to strengthening child protection, WASH, and nutrition programs. As we enter the final quarter of the year, we emphasize the need for innovative solutions that ensure sustainable and affordable access to safe water.

These achievements are a testament to the resilience of our communities, the tireless efforts of our partners, and the generosity of our donors. As we move forward, I am committed to deepening our impact, ensuring that no child is left behind in our mission to create a better future for every child in Zimbabwe.
