Vaccine Industry Consultation 2025

The meeting took place on 17–19 September in Copenhagen and brought together 207 participants, including 150 in person, from more than 75 organizations.

Attendees included representatives from key industry groups such as the Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network, the African Vaccine Manufacturing Initiative, and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations, alongside key partners such as the World Health Organization, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Africa CDC, the Gates Foundation, and the European Commission.

As in previous years, the consultation, organized by UNICEF, served as an important platform to share insights and exchange views on the global immunization landscape and emerging priorities, with a record number of participants and side sessions taking place throughout the event.

In addition to supply, programmatic, and market updates, manufacturers participated in an interactive session to consider solutions to the challenges posed by reduced funding for countries and vaccines.

The discussions emphasized the need to ensure equitable and timely access to vaccines and immunization supplies for every child. Regional procurement and localization were also in focus, with two dedicated side sessions on African vaccine manufacturing.

UNICEF has a key role in the procurement of vaccines and immunization supplies on behalf of around 100 countries, supplying over 2 billion doses of vaccines annually and reaching close to half the world’s children in support of routine immunization programmes,
