Strengthening biosafety and biosecurity in clinical laboratories
Online event in June 2022 on global health security, laboratory biosafety guidelines, procurement services and maintenance of biosafety equipment.
The webinar, held on 8 June 2022, brought together professionals whose combined efforts contribute to global health security including policymakers, laboratory biosafety experts and managers, health program and supply chain managers, service providers and procurers. It gave participants insights on field experience and the most typical challenges to the sustainability of biosafety that laboratory and risk managers are facing.
The webinar addressed a range of topics, including:
- An update on the threat of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases for global health security.
- Laboratory biosafety and regional efforts to strengthen management of biological safety cabinets.
UNICEF Supply Division presented affordable supply solutions for biosafety cabinets and related services and maintenance packages that are available for procurement to Governments, non-profit organizations and academia in low- and middle-income countries.
