Highlights

Malaria is a preventable and curable life-threatening parasitic disease, and yet there are still an estimated 627,000 deaths a year, of which 77 per cent are children under five years of age.

UNICEF has supply arrangements with multiple suppliers including for new and innovative long-lasting insecticidal net (LLIN) technologies that could help stem the rise in insecticide resistance.

UNICEF also applies supply chain cost and sustainability considerations to address some of the challenges undermining environmental sustainability, risks associated with LLIN shipments and price volatility.

The document provides an updated information note on LLINs, highlighting product supply, demand and market developments.
