Highlights

In the Republic of Serbia, continuous and concrete reform efforts are being undertaken to ensure that quality inclusive education is accessible to all children. During this reporting period (2022–2024), significant progress has been made in improving the quality of inclusive education implementation, with clear and measurable results. This progress builds on key reforms introduced since 2009, which have substantially transformed the education system in Serbia.

In this reporting period, a mechanism for the provision of assistive technology was introduced into the system for the first time through the establishment of thirteen resource centers across Serbia. These new organizational units within the education system have supported more than 4,000 students and nearly 1,600 staff members from 494 primary and secondary schools over the past two years. In addition, more than 1,300 students have directly received assistive support in the form of technological tools that facilitate learning.
