Bucharest, June 1, 2025. In the context of the National Year of the Child, the Colorăm Zâmbete Association and UNICEF in Romania organized a flash mob on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., as part of the "Children's Senate" event. The 500 participating children performed an artistic moment to the tune of "Va fi bine" by Smiley, UNICEF National Ambassador, a moving song that conveys an optimistic message about how we can change the world starting with ourselves.
"We are using the opportunity offered by the National Year of the Child and International Children's Day to put children and their messages back in the public spotlight, where they belong, and we celebrate their right to express themselves freely, to play and to be heard, but also their right to an artistic life, rights enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We thank the Romanian Senate and the Colorăm Zâmbete Association, the children, and those who have been with us on this day," said Anna Riatti, UNICEF representative in Romania.
As in previous years, when the Colorăm Zâmbete Association, with the support of local authorities, marked International Dance Day, the flash mob choreography was created by professionals from Dance World Studio, with the children expressing themselves through movement, in a spirit of joy and solidarity.
"We are deeply moved and proud to see how this flash mob, which has already become a tradition for our association, is growing from year to year. The participation of over 500 children is clear proof that dance unites, inspires, and creates unforgettable memories. Through this event, we not only celebrate the National Year of the Child, but also promote the joy of movement and the importance of art in children's development. We thank everyone involved for their energy, dedication, and enthusiasm," said Diana Păun, president of the Colorăm Zâmbete Association.
Last year, the Romanian Parliament passed a law declaring 2025 the National Year of the Child with the aim of drawing attention to children's rights and encouraging the organization of events and projects dedicated to the social, educational, cultural, and civic development of children.
