About UNICEF
UNICEF’s work in Peru aims to ensure that every child and adolescent has equal opportunities to reach their full potential.

UNICEF has been in Peru since 1948, working to ensure that exclusion, discrimination and poverty are no longer factors that limit the development of millions of Peruvian children. Working with the Government, UNICEF contributes to the fulfilment of policies related to children in Peru’s National Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
We work at the national level and directly in some regions where inequity and social exclusion are particularly acute and the situation of children’s rights is especially vulnerable. We work with full respect for cultural diversity and with a gender focus. Our work is based on combining efforts and wills to protect the rights of Peruvian children and adolescents, together with partners and national counterparts, international cooperation agencies and other agencies of the United Nations system.
