About

Imagining Nepal as a Country of 100 People translates findings from the Nepal Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (NMICS) 2024–25 into a simple, human-centred narrative. By reimagining the population as 100 people, the brief makes complex data easier to understand, highlighting both progress and the inequalities that shape children’s lives across regions, communities and social groups.

The publication underscores that behind every statistic is a child, drawing attention to the disparities that continue to limit opportunities for many. It also outlines key priorities for the next five years to support more equitable and informed decision-making. Ultimately, the brief serves as an accessible evidence base and a call to action to ensure that every child in Nepal has the chance to survive, thrive and reach their full potential.

The NMICS was conducted by the National Statistics Office in close partnership with UNICEF.
