Early Identification and early intervention services for young children (0 to 6 years) with developmental delays and disabilities in Namibia
Highlights
It is evident that if children with disabilities receive good care and developmental support in early childhood, and are recognized as fully-fledged members of society, they will become healthier, more productive and valued members of their society.
Evidence-based interventions in early life can mitigate disabilities and developmental delays.
The regional consultations on the early identification, assessment and referral to services for children with disabilities was conducted within the framework of the project on Strengthening Integrated Systems to Promote Access to Services for Persons with Disabilities in Namibia.
The project is jointly implemented by UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF and supported by the United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD), under the coordination of the Office of the President: Disability Affairs.
