What do young people in Myanmar think about the issues that shape their lives?

Through U-Report, their voices are being heard.

Launched in Myanmar in 2016, U-Report is UNICEF's digital community for adolescents and young people. The platform enables young people to express their views on the issues that matter most to them, participate in interactive polls, access trusted information, and engage in meaningful dialogue that helps shape programmes, policies, and advocacy.

Participation is free, inclusive, and accessible. In return, U-Reporters receive timely, reliable information that empowers them to make informed decisions, raise awareness within their communities, and take positive action.

Since its launch, thousands of adolescents and young people from across Myanmar—including those living in remote, conflict-affected, and hard-to-reach areas—have joined U-Report to share their experiences and perspectives. As of July 2026, a total of 1.2 million U-Reporters took part in 280 bi-weekly polls.

U-Report polls have explored a wide range of issues affecting children and young people, including mine risk education, child protection, mental health, education, climate action, violence against children, menstrual health and hygiene, online safety, migration, disaster risk reduction, youth participation, and humanitarian response.

The insights gathered through U-Report provide decision-makers, development partners, and humanitarian actors with real-time evidence on young people's priorities, concerns, and aspirations. These findings help inform policies, programmes, and advocacy efforts that are more responsive to the needs of adolescents and young people.

U-Report has also created opportunities for meaningful youth engagement beyond digital polling. On World Children's Day 2018, 100 U-Reporters from across Myanmar participated in the historic "Take Over" of the Union Parliament, engaging directly with more than 300 parliamentarians to discuss how to build a better future for every child.

Today, U-Report Myanmar is part of a growing global movement that connects millions of young people across more than 100 countries and territories. Together, U-Reporters are raising their voices, influencing decisions, and driving positive change in their communities and beyond.
