Fifth “Bagh School” Opens in Tuv Province

The fifth school under the “One bagh, One school” initiative, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Education and UNICEF Mongolia, has opened in Udleg bagh of Tuv province and is ready to welcome students.
Khan Bank has been the leading supporter of this initiative, investing in the construction of bagh schools in four remote locations. In 2025, bagh schools with a capacity of 75 students were opened in Uench border unit in Khovd province, Borshoo border port in Uvs province, and Tarni bagh in Selenge province. These schools allow children to access quality education close to their homes.
In Mongolia, more than 36,000 children must live away from their families for nine months of the school year in order to attend school, often staying in dormitories or with relatives. Such circumstances can affect young children’s emotional wellbeing and family connections, and some families even separate so their children can attend school. To address this challenge, the Ministry of Education and UNICEF Mongolia launched the “One Bagh, One School” initiative.
Together with Khan Bank, we have opened four bagh schools since 2025. This is an invaluable investment in children’s future. There is a need for such schools in more than 60 baghs nationwide, and we will continue this work together in 2026.
Supporting this initiative is an investment in Mongolia’s future generation, who make up nearly one-third of the country’s population. We will continue working to expand "One bagh, One school" initiative so children can study close to home in safe and comfortable environments. We encourage other businesses and organizations to join this effort for the well-being of children and education".
The newly constructed school features infrastructure designed to withstand Mongolia’s harsh climate. The complex includes modern ventilation, heating and insulation systems, renewable energy sources, and contemporary water and sanitation facilities. It is designed as an integrated school and kindergarten complex.
The school’s digital classroom was equipped with support from IT Zone LLC.
