Access and equity in early childhood education
Evaluation of five countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Policy guidance document
This publication provides significant evidence on a set of sustained actions, which countries can undertake to advance in terms of access and quality of early childhood education, with the intention of achieving target 4.2 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This document is based on the evaluation which analyzed experiences of Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Mexico and Jamaica for this educational level. It allows assessing the elements and conditions that have influenced the increase in coverage and quality, as well as the reduction of equity gaps in the access of girls and boys aged 3 to 6 years, particularly those most vulnerable.
