Prishtina, Kosovo – 20 August 2026 – UNICEF Kosovo and Rotary District 2485 Albania-Kosovo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in support of children and families in Kosovo and creating lasting impact in the communities.

The partnership brings together UNICEF’s expertise and experience in advancing children’s rights and well-being with Rotary’s broad network of members, professionals, community leaders and partners. Through this cooperation, the two organizations will explore opportunities to amplify advocacy, community engagement and partnerships for children.

The MoU provides a framework for collaboration, with an initial focus on supporting immunization promotion and child health, including through awareness-raising, community engagement and outreach to children and families, particularly those who may face barriers to accessing information and services.

The MoU builds on recent engagement between UNICEF Kosovo, Rotary District 2485 Albania-Kosovo and Rotary International, including a visit by Olayinka - Yinka - Hakeem Babalola, President of Rotary International for 2026–2027. During his visit, Mr. Babalola met with health workers at a Family Health Centre to discuss vaccination and child health, and visited a community centre in Fushe Kosovo, where he engaged with children, parents and community representatives. The visit highlighted the value of community-based engagement in reaching and supporting children and families.

Rotary District 2485 Albania-Kosovo will also support UNICEF in identifying and engaging potential partners, donors and networks that may contribute to UNICEF programmes and priorities for children in Kosovo, while facilitating opportunities for dialogue, collaboration and public engagement.

The cooperation reflects the shared commitment of UNICEF Kosovo and Rotary District 2485 Albania-Kosovo to working together with communities, partners and other stakeholders to advance the well-being of every child.
