Accelerated and Differentiated Learning

Marginalized children often encounter systemic barriers that lead to educational disparities, leaving many outside the formal school system and hindering their academic progress. 

Accelerated learning programmes aim to help these children catch up with their peers by enabling them to progress at a pace that matches their abilities, crucial for children who have missed significant schooling due to socio-economic challenges, displacement or other barriers. By providing intensive, targeted instruction, accelerated learning programs can bridge educational gaps and more effectively reintegrate children into formal education systems.

Differentiated learning addresses the diverse needs of children within and outside the school system. This strategy involves tailoring educational content, processes and learning environments to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities. Differentiated learning ensures that each child receives the support they need to thrive academically, whether they are struggling with specific subjects or excelling and seeking further challenges.

This research project focuses on research into the delivery of accelerated and differentiated learning strategies to improve educational outcomes for such children, focusing on how to make them work to improve their learning outcomes.
