Every day, stories of suffering light up our screens, as emergencies erupt across the globe.
Children devastated by the war in Gaza.
Children ravaged by hunger in Sudan.
Children in need of protection in Afghanistan.
Each day a new crisis unfolds that leaves families reeling.
And the world responds, coming together to help those most in need. But after the cameras stop rolling and the world’s attention turns elsewhere, many children remain caught in crises, still in need of our, and your, support.
UNICEF will always be there for children. We stay to make sure they get the help and protection they need. We urge you not to look away. Stay with us. Stay with them.
UNICEF stays to support children like 11-year-old Bohdan, who lives in a city that has been decimated by the war in Ukraine. His school was destroyed, and his classmates fled.

The war changed my life a lot. I don’t attend school anymore. I avoid places where there could be landmines.
During the winter, power outages left children like Bohdan at risk from plunging temperatures. As part of its winter response, UNICEF provided tens of thousands of winter kits and blankets to families.
We stay to support people like Marwa, a dedicated nutrition nurse in Syria, where 13 years of conflict have severely impacted health services and facilities.

In a single month, Marwa and a UNICEF-supported mobile team provided health check-ups and free prescriptions to more than 70,000 children in remote Syrian towns.
The most rewarding thing about my role is seeing families happy to get the help they need, Marwa says.
What it means when UNICEF stays
Children bear the brunt of crises, which can come in many forms – wars, floods, hunger, droughts, earthquakes. All have something in common: a devastating impact on children’s lives. Homes are shattered, displacing entire families. Food becomes scarce. Malnutrition rates soar. Overburdened health-care systems collapse. Education grinds to a halt as schools are destroyed. Children are left exposed to violence and exploitation.
We’re committed to addressing the urgent needs of children in crisis, providing the support they need to survive and be protected.
Today.
Tomorrow.
And beyond.
Despite the extreme risks, UNICEF and partners are on the ground, reaching children with life-saving assistance and protection. We’re there to deliver essential supplies and services like:
- Life-saving medicines and equipment in Gaza
- Clean drinking water for families in Yemen
- Ready-to-use therapeutic food for children suffering from malnutrition in South Sudan
- Immediate cash assistance to families affected by floods in Afghanistan
- School kits for children in Haiti
When you choose to join us and stay for children, we can do so much more.
It’s not just a matter of helping in an emergency. Children deserve long-term solutions to the crises they face. They need help to heal and recover, to learn how to dream and smile again.
We can stay because of you. Your donations and your attention give us the power to be ready, to jump in when children need us, and to stay with them for as long as it takes.

But doing all this requires financial resources. Regular donors from around the world are the lifeblood of UNICEF’s ongoing support.
With monthly donations, your generosity helps us to:
- Plan ahead. Consistent funding means we can allocate resources more effectively, ensuring that children receive the help they need, month after month.
- Ensure stability. A predictable income means we can maintain essential programmes without the fear of running out of funds.
- Maximize impact. Knowing we will receive a certain amount each month allows us to set realistic goals and achieve them.
The power of staying with us
When you stay, you’re standing with children in the face of crisis. You’re telling them they aren’t alone, they aren’t forgotten, and that they matter.
